Current Focus
Ms. Eaton is a Senior Business Development Representative of the Economic Development team for Oakland County Planning & Economic Development. Oakland County is one of the top five fastest growing counties in the United States. In her current position within the economic development team, Ms. Eaton's primary focus is on the European market where she works with European executives who are looking to establish a business presence in the North American market. She also works with existing Oakland County businesses in educating them on available programs and services offered by both Oakland County and the State of Michigan. Ms. Eaton's other areas of expertise are in finance, incentive coordination, workforce development and two of the ten sectors for the County's Emerging Sector Program. She also specializes in the Nanotech sector as part of the County's Emerging Sector program.
Professional Background
Ms. Eaton has worked for Oakland County for over seventeen years assisting the business community in various capacities. Her career started in the Assessors Office in the Personal Property Unit where she assisted tax payers, primarily businesses. She then spent several years working in the Finance Unit where she worked closely with businesses in helping them obtain financing to support their growth needs.
Education
She has a Bachelor of Science with a major in finance from Oakland University. Ms. Eaton is also a graduate of the Cornerstone Program with Leadership Oakland XV. A program that brings together future leaders to discuss the regions challenging issues - education, government and justice system.
Ms. Eaton is also a member of the Michigan Economic Development Association (MEDA), German American Chamber of Commerce (GACC), French American Chamber of Commerce (FACC), Swedish American Chamber of Commerce (SACC) and the British American Business Council (BABC).
