Incumbent Worker Program (IWP)

This program provides job training grants for upgrading the skills of a company's existing workforce. It provides job specific retraining or upgrading of skills related to the use of new technology. All training providers must be licensed by the State of Michigan and priority in the selection process will be given to Oakland Community College.

To qualify, companies must be:

1. Located in Oakland County;
2. Experiencing a skills gap that impacts their ability to compete and retain
   workers; and
3. From one of the following priority industry sectors:
   1. Manufacturing
   2. Construction
   3. Finance
   4. Trade, Transportation and Utilities
   5. Leisure and Hospitality
   6. Professional and Business Services
   7. Emerging Business Sectors
