Description of Project - Walnut Lake Pump Station Improvements
Construction of a 21.8 CFS pumping station complete, including site work, utility connections, and all appurtenances, and modifications to allow for CSO regulator control at four (4) CSO RTB facilities.
The pump station is located in the City of Farmington Hills on Inkster Rd. North of 14 Mile Rd. Acacia Park is located in the City of Beverly Hills. Bloomfield Village and Birmingham are located in the City of Birmingham. GWK is located in the City of Madison Heights.
The following activities will take place at the Oakland County Drain Commissioner's facilities:
Walnut #1 Pump Station - Construct Pump Station, Site Work & Generator Building with related control work and utilities. Demolish old pump station & structures.
Acacia Park Facility & Regulator Site - Selected Demolition, Valve & Control Work and Driveway Improvements
Bloomfield Village CSO Facility & Regulator Site - Valve & Control Work
Birmingham CSO Facility - Control Work
G.W. Kuhn Facility - Control Work
Description of Project - Walnut Lake Force Main Improvements
The project consists of installing approximately 22,000 lft. of 20" D.I.P.S. H.D.P.E. piping with approximately 21,000 lft. placed using directional drilling and roughly 900 lft. installed using jack & bore method. 19 manholes with related access and/or air & vacuum relief valves are also indicated for installation. 450 lft. of water main will also be constructed using the same techniques as the force main.
This project is located along 14 Mile Rd. between Inkster & Evergreen starting a few hundred ft. North on Inkster Rd. and ending a few 100-feet north along Evergreen Rd. The force main route covers many community boundaries and they are indicated below:
