Softwater Lake Sewer Extension
The project consists of the abandonment of the existing 35,000 g.p.g. wastewater treatment plant, and the construction of approximately 8,7090 lineal feet of 6" diameter sanitary force main and a pump station, which will serve Softwater Lake Condominiums located in Springfield Township.
Trenchless technology will be used where possible for the construction of the H.D.P.E. force main. The sanitary force main will be connected to the Clinton-Oakland Sanitary Sewer located in Independence Township.
The estimated project cost is $2,200,000. Hubbell, Roth & Clark, Inc. was selected as the consulting engineering for the project. Mike McMahon, P.E. is the Drain Office engieer assigned to the project.
The project was separated into two contracts, one for the pump station and the other contract for the force main. Bids for both contracts were received on July 5, 2007. The construction contract for the force main was awarded to Pamar Enterprises, Inc. of New Haven, Michigan for their low bid amount of $349,846.00. Man-Con, Michigan, Inc. was awarded the pump station contract for their low bid amount of $469,800.00.
Construction for both projects commenced in the fall of 2007 with completion anticipated in the summer of 2008. The project will be financed by State of Michigan Revolving Funds.
