Six Points Drain, Lyon Township


A petition for certain drainage improvements in the vicinity of Milford Road and Pontiac Trail, located in Sections 3 and 4 Lyon Township was received in January 2006.

The proposed drainage improvements will replace the existing New Hudson and New Hudson Branch No. 1 (Chapter 4) Drains.

Giffels-Webster Engineers, Inc. was selected as the consulting engineer. Mike McMahon, P.E. is the Drain Office engineer assigned to the project.

The proposed drainage improvements include approximately 2,200 lineal feet of 36" diameter storm drain to be constructed within the public rights-of-way of Milford Road and Grand River Road.

Bids were received on September 19, 2006. The construction contract was awarded to Dan's Excavating, Inc. of Shelby Township, Michigan for their low bid amount of $418,498.71. Construction commenced in the spring of 2007. A spring 2008 completion is anticipated.
