The purpose of the proposed project is to provide a connection to the existing sanitary sewer system in Independence Township to service the Softwater/Bluewater area in order to abandon the aging waste water treatment plant.
Project construction will involve Installation of approximately 8,700 lineal feet of force main from the Softwater/Bluewater area, under I-75, along Dixie Highway to the existing public sanitary sewer system. Construction to also include a new sanitary sewer pump station to replace the existing station and abandonment of the existing Waste Water Treatment Plant.
The estimated cost to users within the project area to be about $300.00 per Residential Equivalent Unit (REU) per quarter. The estimated amount is to cover Capital Improvement and Operation & Maintenance costs. Once the loan is paid off for the Capital Improvements, the user costs will be lowered to an amount necessary to cover Operation & Maintenance costs.
