Watershed Educational Activities

The Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner's (OCWRC) Environmental Team supports many of the current water quality and storm water public education activities underway with the Rouge, Clinton, Huron, Shiawassee and Flint watershed organizations and individual municipalities.

The OCWRC Environmental Team continues to work with various communities that are now developing storm water public education plans, as part of the Federal Phase II Storm Water Regulations. OCWRC works with each group in coordination and/or facilitation of public education programs according to the needs of each subwatershed.

Our education programs include basic information regarding water quality and non-point source pollution.  This includes understanding how water travels throughout our environment and how human actions and land use impacts water quality.

For more detailed information regarding Public Education, please contact Amy Ploof envreq@oakgov.com or phone 248-858-0958.
