Honorable Dennis C. Drury


Judge Drury has served as a District Court Judge since 1984. He was the Chief Judge of the 52nd District Court for eight (8) years. He was assigned as a Circuit Court Judge to sit as the Oakland County Drug Judge in 1996. In 1996 Judge Drury was selected by the Japanese government to consult on the decriminalization of traffic matters.

Judge Drury has served for several years on the faculty of the Michigan Judicial Institute, the continuing judicial education arm of the Michigan Supreme Court. He has been an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at Walsh College since 1986. The Judge was instrumental in developing the Peoples Law School, a public service program of the Oakland County Bar Association, and served as its Dean for a number of years. He is a frequent lecturer at public schools from grade school through adult education. Judge Drury has been active in national, state and local judicial and bar associations. He is a past President of the South Oakland County Bar Association, a member of the Oakland County Bar Association Board of Directors for 10 years, and a member of the State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly for 6 years.

Judge Drury's community interests include: Troy Coalition For the Prevention of Alcohol and Drug Abuse (Board of Directors); Troy Public Schools Continuing Education (Advisory Board); Medigo-Transportation for Seniors (Board of Directors); Boys & Girls of Troy (Board of Directors and Advisory Board); Troy Kiwanis (Board of Directors); State YMCA of Michigan (Board of Directors).
