52-2 Magistrates

The 52nd District Court, Second Division employs two part-time Magistrates:

Thomas Raguso has served since his appointment in March of 1998.  He is a graduate of Michigan State University and Wayne State University Law School. 

Elizabeth C. Chiappelli - has served since her appointment on March 5, 2005. She is a graduate of Wayne State University and University of Detroit Mercy Law School.

The Magistrates are responsible for:

• Conducting arraignments
• Small Claims hearings
• Informal hearings
• Setting bond
• Performing marriages
