Kelley Kostin


Judge Kelley Kostin was elected to the 52nd District Court, 2nd Division in November, 2004 and took office January 1, 2005.

Judge Kostin attended the University of Michigan where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics in 1983.  She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit in 1991.

Judge Kostin was employed by Ford Motor Company in the Finance Department of the Electrical and Electronics Division prior to attending law school and clerked for the Honorable Fred M. Mester of Oakland County Circuit Court while attending law school.  She served as an Associate in a private law firm for 13 years prior to taking the bench.  While in private practice, Judge Kostin also acted as a Magistrate to the 52nd District Court.

Judge Kostin is associated in numerous community organizations including The Clarkston Area Optimists, the Clarkston Area Task Force for Youth, the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce and Trustee for Notre Dame Preparatory Academy.  Judge Kostin was honored to be selected Clarkston's "Youth Volunteer of the Year" by the Chamber of Commerce in 2002.

Judge Kostin is a member of the State Bar of Michigan; the Oakland County Bar Association where she is a member of the District Court Committee and the New Membership Committee; and is an Oakland County Bar Fellow; and the Michigan District Judge's Association.

Judge Kostin is married and has one son who attends elementary school.
