How long will I have to serve?
You should plan on serving one full day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you are selected for a jury trial, you will be expected to serve until the case is concluded.

How much will I be paid?
If you are here in the morning and leave before noon you will be paid for a half day at $12.50 plus $.10 per mile round trip. If you are here in the morning and leave after 12:00 p.m., you will be paid for a full day at $25 plus $.10 per mile round trip. For subsequent days you will be paid $20 for a half day and $40 for a full day.

I have moved out of the area. Do I have to serve?
If you have moved out of the area you must provide a copy of your driver's license, front and back, showing your new address. Upon receipt of proof, you will be excused from serving jury duty at this court.

What is the age limit for serving jury duty?
If you are over 70 years of age, you are not required to serve jury duty. You must show proof of your age in order to be excused. Of course, if you are over 70 and wish to serve, you may.

How do I get proof that I served jury duty?
We will time stamp your summons when you leave the court on jury selection day. You can use this as proof to provide to your employer.

I am a student and unable to serve during my school term. What can I do?
You are not exempt from serving jury duty because you are a student. However, you may write the court to request a deferral.

What if I am unable to serve for medical reasons?
Medical deferrals must be accompanied by a letter from your doctor two weeks prior to your scheduled jury selection date. A doctor's note is required and must state the reason why you should be deferred from serving at that time.

What if I cannot appear for the Jury Selection Date?
If you have an extraordinary circumstance that requires you to deferred, you must submit a detailed request in writing within 2 weeks of receiving your summons. You must have permission from the Court to be deferred.

Where do I go when I am checking in?
When you report for Jury Duty, please go directly to the Multi-Purpose Room on the lower level. You will need to inform the judicial assistant of your mileage from home to the Court.
