Fox & Friends featured Oakland County's wellness program – OakFit - Sunday, January 16, and Wednesday, January 19, 2011 as a model for the nation to help reduce healthcare expenses. In live interviews, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said that OakFit and other measures have saved taxpayers $12 million in county employee healthcare costs.
Patterson called it a "win, win, win" because taxpayers save money; Oakland County balances its budget; and county workers enjoy a better, healthier lifestyle.
