Tigers Spirit!
Oakland County, Michigan, October 13, 2006 -- Employees at the Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds Office Friday proclaimed their support of the Detroit Tigers in the American League Championship Series.
The team is working toward what could be their first World Series appearance in 22 years.
"My mom used to live for the ballgames, no matter how they played," said one clerk.
Another employee said her family is tuning in, too. "My dad quit watching when they had the strike. He's in Tennessee now, but he's watching down there," she said with a smile. "People who found it easy not to watch them or were protesting the strike are finding them irresistible now."
Under banners in the county courthouse cheering the team on with 'Go Get 'Em Tigers,' fans of the team wore t-shirts and ball caps as they recorded and electronically scanned land records, processed passports and birth certificates, managed legal documents and lawsuits and prepared for the Nov. 7 General Election.
