Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds Holiday Closing

Oakland County, MI, February 8, 2006 -- Ruth Johnson, the Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds, is reminding everyone that her office will be closed Monday, Feb. 20 in observance of President's Day.

The federal holiday, which officially honors George Washington's birthday, is popularly known as President's Day and also celebrates the birth of Abraham Lincoln and all other presidents.

While the Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds Office will be closed, Johnson said many of the services offered by the Clerk/Register of Deeds Office can be accessed online at www.oakgov.com/clerkrod, including applications for vital records like birth, death and marriage certificates, marriage licenses and concealed pistol licenses.

New this year is access to Oakland County's Assumed Names business listings and Notary Index.

Oakland County's veterans can also find military discharge forms at the Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deed's website.

Other information available online includes information about land transactions, elections and legal records.

The Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds Office is normally open 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For information, call (248) 858-0581.
