Clerk Ruth Johnson Officially Welcomes New Attorneys to Oakland County Bar
Oakland County, Michigan, Thursday, May 31 -- Ruth Johnson, the Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds, welcomed 27 new attorneys to the Oakland County Bar Association this week at the New Lawyers Admission Ceremony.
As Clerk, Johnson administered the official oath to the new attorneys, most fresh out of law school. The ceremony was held Wednesday, May 30, in the Board of Commissioners Auditorium at the Oakland County courthouse in Pontiac.
"Their family members are so proud," Johnson said. "It's a wonderful celebration."
Members of the Circuit Court bench presided over the ceremony. Retiring Circuit Judge Gene Schnelz offered up his customary humor as well as his heartfelt advice.
