How do I request an absentee ballot?

You may request an absentee ballot from the city or township clerk's office where you are registered to vote. Your request must be made in writing and include the date. You may also visit the Michigan Voter Information Center to obtain an absent voter ballot request.

How do I find out if an individual is registered to vote?

Voter registration records may be verified by contacting the city or township clerk's office, Oakland County Clerk Election Division or by visiting the Michigan Voter Information Center.

Where do I file Campaign Finance?

A candidate for a county, city, township, village, school, probate judge or other local elected office must file with the county clerk. A candidate for a state or judicial office must file with the Michigan Department of State, Bureau of Elections in Lansing.

The 2008 election schedule (file size 12k) is available online.  Corresponding filing deadlines may be obtained by calling 248-858-0564 or by email at elections@oakgov.com.

Board of Commissioner resolutions and meeting minutes may be viewed online. Certified copies and attachments may be obtained by contacting the Oakland County Clerk Elections Division at 248-858-0564.
