Community CrimeWatch Program

The CLEMIS Community CrimeWatch program provides CLEMIS-member police agencies with Web site hosting, templates and content management tools to assist them with their community oriented policing programs.

The technology enables individual agencies to publish Web sites with downloadable maps detailing crime activities by area (location) and by date (range). CLEMIS is planning to provide this program at no cost to Oakland County CLEMIS police and public safety agencies.

The project pilot was launched October 6, 2004 in partnership with the Pontiac Police Department. Additional agencies have been launched since that date.

In addition to the community oriented policing site, particpating agencies can use the CLEMIS Link site.  This is a private and secured regional site accessible to only CLEMIS agencies for cross-jurisdiction information and resource sharing.

A third site was developed for the agency to use internally to improve communication within thier individual department.
