Children's Advocates

Children's Advocates are court volunteers who are appointed by the court for two different assignments.  They may be appointed to represent the best interest of a minor on a minor guardianship case.  In such cases, they investigate and report on the child's and the proposed guardian's situation and complete a "home study".

A Children's Advocates volunteer may also be appointed to review the status of adult guardianships by visiting the ward and completing a report to the court known as a Report on Review of Guardianship of Legally Incapacitated Individual. PC 636.

The Children's Advocates program is sponsored by the National Council of Jewish Women.  For more information about being a Children's Advocates volunteer, please contact the National Council of Jewish Women at 248-355-3300.
