Improve Your Home

For more than 30 years, Oakland County's Community & Home Improvement Division has met the home improvement needs of low and moderate income homeowners.

Oakland County's Home Improvement Program is designed to improve the condition of existing housing. With a home improvement loan you can:

  • Make needed repairs to your home
  • Maintain or increase the value of your home
  • Decrease your utility bills and much more

As a qualified homeowner, loans are available for up to $18,000. This loan will be deferred, with no interest, no monthly payments until you no longer reside in your home.

Gross Household Income Limits

Federal Regulations require us to anticipate income, using the household's current circumstances to project future income. Current gross income is not last year's income. Gross income includes the earnings of all adult household members plus the benefits of all household members. Benefits include child support, Social Security benefits, alimony, etc.
