About Davis Bacon Act
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Davis Bacon & Related Acts
The Oakland County Community and Home Improvement Division is awarded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds on an annual basis directly from The US Department of Housing and Urban Development per the Housing and Community Development act of 1974.
The Davis Bacon Act as amended requires that each contract over $2,000 to which the United States is a party for the construction, alteration, or repair of public buildings or public works shall contain a clause requiring minimum wages to be paid to various classes of laborers and mechanics employed under the contract. Under the provision of the Act, contractors or their sub contractors are to pay workers employed directly on the site no less than the local prevailing wages and fringe benefits paid on similar projects.
Oakland County CDBG participating communities that will be starting approved CDBG Davis Bacon Projects can now download all required forms, including the Federal Wage Decision.
