Bridge the Skills Gap
Narrow the gaps between the technical and professional skills industry sectors need and the skills workers have by a) promoting continuous learning and b) consulting specific industries and industry associations.
Accomplishments for 2007
The Oakland County Michigan Works! Service Centers addressed technical and professional skills gaps by contracting with Oakland Community college and other training institutions to retrain approximately 1,000 incumbent workers in numerous subjects.
Automation Alley continued their implementation of a Michigan Regional Skills Alliance Grant to convene stakeholders and address workforce development issues.
