Oakland County Commissioners have opened a new front in the fight against home foreclosures. In addition to their bi-partisan appeal to the state legislature for financial assistance in this desparate situation, the Commissioners have joined several area agencies to meet with homeowners personally in an effort to help them save their homes. These agencies include the Oakland County Community and Home Improvement Department, Lighthouse Community Development, the Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency, Professional Housing Counselors from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and LaSalle Bank.
The Commissioners and housing professionals have scheduled a series of "My Home-My Future" seminars throughout Oakland County.
These seminars are designed to provide valuable information and advice that will offer both hope and tools that Oakland County residents can use in the struggle to keep their homes.
