Oakland County Commissioners have passed a resolution supporting the Silent Witness Program, and its local sponsor and partner, Beaumont Hospitals, in their efforts to end domestic violence.
Michigan State Police reported 54,258 victims and 30 murders related to domestic violence in 2004.
The Silent Witness National Initiative is working to "promote peace, healing and responsibility in adult relationships in order to eliminate domestic murders in the U.S. by the year 2010.
