Solid Waste Planning Committee

Act 641 Solid Waste Planning Information



The Solid Waste Planning Committee was established by Public Act 1994, No. 451. The purpose of the Committee is to assist in the preparation of a Solid Waste Management Plan pursuant to Michigan Compiled Law, M.C.L. 324.11533.

The Committee consists of 4 individuals from the Solid Waste Management Industry, 3 individuals from the general public, 2 individuals from environmental interest groups, 1 individual from the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, 1  individual from county government, 1 individual from city government, and 1 individual from township government.  All serve 2-year terms.  The Committee meets at the discretion of the Chairperson, who is elected by the Committee.

The Board of Commissioners seeks individuals to fill the following vacancies:

Four (4)  individuals from the Solid Waste Industry

Three (3)  individuals from the general public

Two (2)  individuals from environmental interest groups

One (1)  individual from the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments

One (1)  individual from township government

One (1)  individual from city government

One (1) individual from Industrial Waste Generator
