The Board seeks two individuals to serve on the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. As an appointee of the Board of Commissioners each member will be responsible for helping the council to conduct the following:
Identify challenges with the jail system
Outline a new jail system
Oversee policies, programs, promote fiscal efficiency, and the operation of the system
Develop action plans
Create a new and improved system
Address jail system problems
Work with key justice agency officials, law enforcement, county administration, and all general government agencies
Promote greater understanding that will enhance the county's criminal justice system
