Area Agency on Aging

The Area Agency on Aging was established pursuant to Michigan Compiled Law 400.589. The Agency assists in developing and coordinating policies and programs to meet the needs of the County’s aging and older population.  The Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA-1B) is a non-profit organization responsible for improving the lives of more than 420,000 seniors in Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Oakland Counties.

The 20-member Board has representatives appointed from Oakland County as follows:

     * One (1) Oakland County Commissioner
     * One (1) Alternate
     * One (1) Senior Citizen (a Senior is any person 60 years of age or older)

Members serve 2-year terms and are entitled to mileage reimbursement.

The Agency normally meets once a month, on Fridays at 9:30 a.m., at the AAA-1B Conference Room, 29100 Northwestern Highway in Southfield, Michigan. 


We will not be seeking applications until 2009.
