Voted to cut $33 million of County spending to offset pending deficit
Voted to keep county tax rate to residents low. Successfully maintained the 3rd lowest county tax rate in Michigan out of 83 counties.
Initiated the first comprehensive West Nile Virus and SARS Symposium that brought community awareness. Used personal funds to create this program. Partnered with industry and government to create this educational program for the betterment of the community.
Traveled to Washington DC to meet with United States Department of Transportation Secretary, Norman Mineta and Highways Administrator Mary Peters to discuss Oakland County Road funding.
Sponsored "Coats of Kindness" program collecting over 600 unused coats for distribution to needy families of Oakland County.
Initiated successful effort to restore funding to county hospital's indigent care fund, supporting indigent county residents that need healthcare and mental illness treatment but are uninsured.
Facilitated the "Youth in Government Program" sponsored by the Oakland County Board of Commissioners.

Commissioner Jamian's philanthropic initiatives include numerous community fund-raising efforts. His generosity continues to benefit hospitals, schools, churches, the arts and non-profit agencies/organizations.
Personal:
Commissioner Jamian is a graduate of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan and has B.A. in Economics. For over 25 years, he has been employed as a healthcare professional. He is responsible for creating over 3,000 jobs in Michigan's Southeastern region.
He is married to the lovely Sandra Jamian and they have three daughters, who each attend public schools and universities.
