Personal:
Commissioner Tim Burns lives in Clawson with his wife Barbra and their children, Jackson and Margaret. He is an attorney for the Better Business Bureau and maintains a limited private law practice that focuses on estate planning and small business representation. Commissioner Burns has a Bachelor of Science degree from Bradley University and has a Jurist Doctorate degree from the University of Detroit/Mercy Law School. He completed his clerkship with the Michigan Attorney General's High Tech Crime Unit and was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 2000. Commissioner Burns is the President of the Troy Community Coalition for the Prevention of Alcohol & Drug Abuse. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Clawson Community Credit Union and the Clawson Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Burns is a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Troy "Taste of Troy" fundraising committee, is a member of the Clawson-Troy Optimist Club, and belongs to the Troy Chamber of Commerce.
