Part 1: Local Law Enforcement Officials

A panel consisting of local law enforcement officials shared their expertise at the first local government public hearing on gun violence and mental health, giving statistics on three systems used by police in background checks, suggestions on patching loopholes in those systems and sharing their opinions on curbing gun violence in Oakland County.

Four superintendents from throughout Oakland County sat on a panel and fielded questions dealing with violence in schools and mental health identification.
