Runway Braking Action

Runway Friction Tester (RFT) / Decelerometer

Oakland County International Airport recently acquired a Runway Friction Tester (RFT) / Decelerometer for use during the winter seasons.  An RFT provides a scale of braking action reports for runways and taxiways.

Additional information regarding the RFT is available in FAA Advisory Circular 150/5200-30A, Chapter 5.
