Excavating Egypt
Excavating Egypt tells the story of archaeologist William Matthew Petrie (1853-1942) and his exploration of ancient Egyptian civilization. This “father of Egyptian archeology” worked in Egypt for over 50 years, and served as the inspiration for the film hero Indiana Jones. The exhibition, featuring over 200 of Petrie’s most significant finds, will be on view from September 30, 2006 through January 7, 2007 at the Flint Institute of Arts.
