Pontiac, Michigan (January 10, 2006) The Office of Arts, Culture & Film announces the application deadline for Round Three of the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) minigrant is February 1, 2006.

Non-profit organizations, schools and local government units planning arts-related events that take place from May 1, 2006 through September 30, 2006 are invited to apply for funding.

The MCACA Minigrant Program provides up to $4,000 in financial assistance, on a matching basis, for local arts projects that recognize a community need and require additional, limited funding to meet that need. Awards will be determined by a review panel that scores each grant application on project feasibility, artistic merit, community impact and project budget.

Application packets are available online under the Forms and Applications section and at the Office of Arts, Culture & Film. Applicants residing in counties other than Oakland should contact the Office of Arts, Culture & Film for information on the location of their MCACA Regranting agency.
