The Scripps House
The Scripps Mansion is a 67-room architectural Tudor-style masterpiece built in Lake Orion in 1927. Originally the home of William E. Scripps, founder of the E.W. Scripps Company, with interests in newspapers, broadcast television, cable television networks and other media-related enterprises. These originally included The Detroit News and Detroit WWJ Newsradio 950, the nation's first commercial radio station.
