Brown Bag Lecture Presentation by Bill McElhone - Wallace Frost: A Retrospective
Pontiac, Michigan (June 2, 2005) The Office of Arts, Culture & Film presents a lecture presentation by Bill McElhone on the life and influence of renowned architect Wallace Frost on June 16, 2005, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Oakland County Lecture Hall.
Mr. McElhone is the director of the Birmingham Historical Museum. His presentation will focus on the architectural contributions that Frost made in the Birmingham community. Frost was a Junior Partner at the Detroit architectural firm of Albert Kahn where he assisted in many projects including the General Motor Buildings, Detroit Public Library and William L. Clements Library in Ann Arbor. After staying with Kahns firm for six years, Frost established his own practice in Birmingham in 1925 where he continued to blend his old and modern design styles to create at least 44 recognized houses in the area. Frosts appeal and longevity can be attributed to his talents and ability to evolve his international style over the course of his career.
The presentation will take place on Thursday, June 16, 2005, from Noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Oakland County Lecture Hall, Building 49 West on the County campus at 1200 N. Telegraph Road, in Pontiac.
