Pontiac, Michigan (November 1, 2005) – The Office of Arts, Culture & Film presents a lecture by J.B. Daveys, President of the Michigan Finger Style Guitar Society on November 17, 2005, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Oakland County Lecture Hall. A live performance will be one of the many highlights of the presentation.
The Michigan Finger Style Guitar Society is a newly formed non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the appreciation of fingerstyle guitar through concerts, workshops and goodwill. The workshops are designed to provide students with an extraordinary look at the technique and motivation behind the artist’s songs and style. The society is also active in helping charitable causes in the metro Detroit area by using it's member’s skills to help out music therapy programs, performing for assisted living communities and other charitable events. Come learn about the organization, and enjoy a live performance as well.
