Brown Bag Presenting Monique Desormeau - Flint Art Institute

The Office of Arts & Culture presents a lecture by Monique Desormeau, Curator of Education for the Flint Institute of Arts, on November 16, 2006, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Oakland County Lecture Hall.
Excavating Egypt tells the story of archaeologist William Matthew Petrie (1853-1942) and his exploration of ancient Egyptian civilization. This “father of Egyptian archeology” worked in Egypt for over 50 years, and served as the inspiration for the film hero Indiana Jones. The exhibition, featuring over 200 of Petrie’s most significant finds, will be on through January 7, 2007 at the Flint Institute of Arts.
Monique M. Desormeau, holds a B.A. in Art History from the College of New Rochelle and an M.S. in Art Education from the College of St. Rose. In addition to her duties at the Flint Art Institute, she teaches art education classes in the University of Michigan-Flint/Mott Community College consortium program.
The presentation is November 16, 2006, from Noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Oakland County Lecture Hall, Building 49 West on the county campus at 1200 N. Telegraph Road, in Pontiac. Admission is free.
