Takin' It To The Street: The Public Art Project
Pontiac, Michigan (May 30, 2003) -- It is always wonderful to see one of the many non-profit organizations of Michigan receive recognition for their projects with the community. The Public Art Project, a mini-grant receiver from Oakland County's Office of Arts, Culture & Film, is featured in the Metropolitan Detroit Monthly Magazine, Hour, under the article "The Best of Metro Detroit".
Hour described the Public Art Project as "that arty billboard" on the west side of Woodward in Ferndale. It started nearly 10 years ago as a revolving display of works by area artists and evolved into its current status as a non-profit entity. The Public Art Project, with its two-fold premise of providing artists with a mass audience and the community with a large, free ever-changing installation, is the best used of wall space.
The Public Art Project is located at 23257 Woodward, Ferndale, Michigan, USA.
