Workshop on Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs

Pontiac, Michigan (September 9, 2003) -- Oakland County Office of Arts, Culture & Film will sponsor a workshop on the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) Minigrant Program on Monday, September 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Huron Valley Council for the Arts, 205 W. Livingston, in Highland. The workshop will review minigrant guidelines and the application form for Fiscal Year 2004. The Office of Arts, Culture & Film serves as a regional regranting agency for the MCACA for Oakland County.

The application deadline for Round Two is October 1 for projects that take place from February 1, 2004 through September 30, 2004. Non-profit organizations, schools and local government units planning arts-related events during this time are invited to attend the minigrant workshop and to apply for funding.

The MCACA Minigrant Program provides up to $4,000 in financial assistance, on a matching basis, for local arts projects that recognize a community need and require additional, limited funding to meet that need. Decisions are made by a panel from submitted applications.

Application packets are available on-line at www.artsoakland.com and at the Office of Arts, Culture & Film. Applicants residing in counties other than Oakland should contact the Office of Arts, Culture & Film for information on the location of their MCACA regranting agency.

Please contact Kristie Everett Zamora for further information, Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., at 248-858-0415.
