Imlay City

The Imlay City DDA, located in Lapeer County, is looking for a muralist to paint sides of buildings located in their Downtown Area. East Lansing Art Festival

The East Lansing Art Festival is seeking artists for its festival, May 17-18. To be eligible, applicants must be currently enrolled in, recently graduated from or affiliated (within 2-3 years)with a university, college or art school. Artists selected for the program will be invited to exhibit their work at the 2008 festival. Application deadline is January 21, 2008. Any media is accepted including painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, digital art, 2-D and 3-D mixed media, sculpture, functional and non-functional ceramics, metalsmithing, glass, wood, fibers, jewelry and leather. Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center

The BBAC's Exhibitions Committee and Robinson Committee are currently accepting applications for the 2009 calendar year.  The submission deadline is April 30, 2008.  Applicants may specify which gallery they would like to be considered for.  Gallery descriptions can be found in the Exhibit Calendar.  The Exhibitions Committee is seeking applications from emerging artists for the Ramp Gallery and group applications for the DeSalle Community Gallery.  The Robinson Committee welcomes applications from established artists and curators.  Please see website for additional information www.bbartcenter.org/   or contact Chelsea Romero at 248-644-0866, ext. 103, or ChelseaRomero@BBArtCe.

Un-Shelved: An Altered Book Project
This community project, organized by the Bloomfield Township Public Library, the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, and graduate students from the Cranbrook Academy of Art is open to all artists 16 years and older. The primary medium of the submitted piece must be a book. One entry per person. Project drop-off is February 1-2, 2008 (9AM-4PM) at the BBAC. Works will be curated and distributed on February 4, 2008. Exhibit runs February 8-24, 2008 at the BBAC and BTPL and through February 19, 2008 at Cranbrook.  Please see website for additional information and entry form. www.btpl.org/unshelved.

Lawrence Street Gallery

Lawrence Street Gallery is currently scheduling exhibitions for 2008-2009.  Artists must be from the local area.  Exhibition oportunities include one month long solo exhibitions, two person shows, and group shows.

Huron Valley Council for the Arts

The Huron Valley Council for the Arts is hosting a juried exhibition, "Art from Refuse: Recycled Art". The University of Michigan Health System invites artists and arts organizations to submit exhibit proposals to their annual Call for Entries for the September 2008 through August 2009 exhibit year.
