Oakland County Government Website Offers Home Foreclosure Informational Video Program
Pontiac, MI, January 31, 2008 - Homeowners facing the dire prospects of losing their home to foreclosure can now go to the County of Oakland government website (www.oakgov.com) to view a half-hour taped program on what they should do to save their home before it's too late.
The program entitled: "Saving Your Home Before Foreclosure Strikes" is a roundtable discussion hosted by Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson and includes lenders and other community leaders who zero in on the home foreclosure crisis in a very frank and informative way.
Patterson and his guests encourage homeowners facing foreclosure to contact their lenders immediately and to seek assistance from Housing and Urban Development Administration (HUD) approved counseling services.
Panelists included: Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox; Jerry Durham, vice president of Countrywide's Home Ownership Preservation Initiative; Mark Hammond, president of Flagstar Bank and David Trott, president and managing attorney for the law firm of Trott and Trott which specializes in handling residential default procedures for mortgage lenders.
The program offers a wealth of valuable information, helpful tips and important contact information for homeowners who are threatened with the loss of their homes.
"I believe this program will make it much easier for people facing home foreclosure to get the information they need to save their homes in the privacy of their own homes," said Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson. "Although there are numerous seminars being offered on this timely subject, viewing this program privately might be less traumatic or embarrassing for some people than attending a public event."
Several local municipal cable channels in Oakland County, including Waterford and West Bloomfield, will broadcast the "Saving Your Home Before Foreclosure Strikes" program at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. Please check with your local cable operator to see when the program will air in your area.
To access the program on the Oakland County government website, go to www.oakgov.com and click on "Saving Your Home Before Foreclosure Strikes" in our Around the County Section located on the home page.
The half-hour program was produced by Civic Center TV (CVTV) which is a full time municipal information channel cable cast on the Comcast digital channel 915. CVTV serves the communities of West Bloomfield, Keego Harbor, Orchard Lake and Sylvan Lake. CVTV is a service of the Greater West Bloomfield Cable Advisory Board.
