County Executive to Make a Significant Announcement Involving Lake Orion Parents Struck by Multiple Tragedies

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Pattersonhas scheduled a news conference for Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. in the Executive Office Building Conference Center, 2100 Pontiac Lake Road in Waterford. The Conference Center located at the east end of the building on the main floor. Parking is immediately adjacent the entrance.

Patterson will be joined at the press conference by Cliff and Vicki Schrauger, the Lake Orion parents whose two sons, Joshua, 17, and Timothy, 14, died in a traffic accident Sept. 29 in Clinton County. Another of the Schrauger's sons, David, is a U.S. Army specialist who is recovering in a Texas military hospital from near-fatal wounds suffered in Iraq on Father's Day.

Patterson will discuss a community-wide effort involving the family’s future. The couple's pastor, Rev. Tom Hampton of Community Bible Church in Waterford, will also be in attendance.
