Oakland County Aerial Photography Project

Pontiac, MI - March 23, 2006  Oakland County has contracted with Ayres Associates for the acquisition and delivery of 2006 digital aerial photography which will be incorporated into the County's geographic information system (GIS).  Survey crews of Ayres Associates of Midland, Michigan, will be placing targets throughout Oakland County between March 24, 2006 and April 1, 2006 in support of the project. 

These targets will be placed in areas that are easily seen from the aircraft so that they will be present in the resulting imagery.  Cloth targets in the shape of an "X" will be secured in grassy areas and painted targets will be used on road surfaces.  The cloth targets will be removed once the image acquisition is complete, and the painted targets are designed to wear off over time.
