Oakland County Senior Prescription Discount Program Back in Business

Pontiac, MI, January 4, 2006 -- Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson today announced that the Senior Prescription Discount Program which was temporarily terminated because of a glitch is now back in operation.

"The program was erroneously terminated due to a communication problem," Patterson said.  "The company has taken quick action to reinstate the program so that participating pharmacies will once again accept the prescription discount card."

Patterson apologized for any inconvenience this may have caused participating seniors.  However, he also indicated that the program may be ended at some point in the future and that seniors may want to consider signing up for the new Medicare Prescription Option.
