Pay Tickets Online Program Hits Two-Year Mark in Record Fashion
Pontiac, MI, December 6, 2005 Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson today praised the extraordinary success of the Pay Tickets Online Service in the 52nd District Court which recently passed the two-year mark.
Since the program was launched in November 2003, more than $1.2 million, representing 12,437 traffic fine payments have been made online, Patterson said. This has truly proven to be a worthwhile program which citizens have enthusiastically embraced.
The 52-3 District Court in Rochester had its best day ever on November 28th when 45 tickets were paid online.
From November 2003 through November 2005, 52-3 lead all four of the 52nd District Courts with a total of $651,030 in tickets paid online followed by 52-4 with $252,990; 52-1 with $200,385, and 52-2 with $172,769.
As of this date, all four 52nd District Courts are 1,538 payments and $173,487 ahead of the January-November 2004 timeframe.
Pay Tickets Online was developed to relieve congestion in the busy 52nd District Courts and to make it easier and more convenient for people to pay their traffic tickets.
Im very impressed with the current progress of this program and look forward to even better results in the future, said William E. Bolle, Chief Judge-52nd District Courts. The IT Department and District Court staff deserve all the credit for the success of this program.
Citizens can pay tickets online by visiting the Oakland County website at: www.oakgov.com and clicking on Online Services. The Pay Tickets Online feature is available only in the 52nd District Court jurisdiction of Oakland County.
