Oakland County Ranked Among the Top Digital Counties in America
Pontiac, MI, June 30, 2005 -- Oakland County has been named one of the most "digitally advanced" counties in the nation according to a survey conducted by the Center for Digital Government (Center) and the National Association of Counties (NACo). Oakland County placed 6th in the 2005 Digital County Survey for counties with populations of 500,000 or more.
In April, all counties in the U.S. were invited to participate in the survey by responding to a set of 22 questions that included more than 95 measurements or data points.
"This nationwide survey clearly recognizes Oakland Countys growing superiority in the technology field" said Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson. "Our high ranking serves to underscore our message that Oakland County is the ideal business location for companies that want to grow and prosper in the new economy of the 21st Century."
Just last year, Chief Information Officer (CIO) Magazine, a national publication focusing on IT, selected Oakland County as the only county in America among its top 100 award recipients for 2004.
