Pontiac, Michigan -- Jason Warner, a GIS/CAD technician in Oakland County's Facilities Management division, is the first Oakland County employee to earn the prestigious Facility Management Professional (FMP) credential from the International Facility Management Association (IFMA).

"It's another feather in our cap to have the recognition that we have such high-caliber employees," says Art Holdsworth, director of facilities management. "Oakland County is trying to be the best of the best, trying to be the leaders in government."

Holdsworth adds that Warner's FMP certification will improve Oakland County's level of service to residents who visit any county building. "It advances facility management's ability to serve our clients – employees and taxpayers."

The IFMA awards the FMP to those who complete a variety of courses in leadership, planning, operations and business. "Pursuing an educational and skill-building program such as the FMP shows great dedication to advancing your proficiency and value to your organization," says the IFMA.

Warner, a 27-year-old resident of the City of Farmington, obtained the FMP credential over the past year, taking courses through the University of Washington. He has been with Oakland County for six years, since October of 2003. He is recently married with no children.
