Pontiac, Michigan – Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson announced today the appointment of Bill Mullan as Media and Communications Officer for Oakland County. "I look forward to Bill joining our team in the executive's office. His 17 years experience as a journalist will bring energy and fresh perspective to his role," Patterson said.
Mullan succeeds outgoing Media and Communications Officer Bob Dustman who will retire October 2nd, closing out a 17 year career at Oakland County.
"Bob is a tireless worker, great advisor and a dear friend. I wish him well in his new endeavors," Patterson says.
Mullan joins the executive's office after more than eleven years at Fox 2 News, where he was senior assignment editor. His work history includes WWJ-AM, WXYZ-TV, The Macomb Daily and The Detroit News, among others. Mullan is a graduate of Wayne State University. He is a resident of South Lyon, where he resides with his wife, Angie, and their three children.
"The opportunity to be part of the team in the Oakland County Executive's office thrills me. I will enjoy working with Mr. Patterson, his great team members, and the media," Mullan says.
Mullan's first day on the job will be October 5th.
