Pontiac, Michigan - The Oakland County Health Division is partnering with the Royal Oak Senior Center and American House to sponsor and host the "Into the Future" expo which focuses on planning to live well.
The expo will be held on Saturday, September 26th from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Leo Mahany / Harold Meininger Senior Community Center in Royal Oak.
"This expo will show what opportunities are available to people as they grow older," said Mary Strobe, BSN, RN, Oakland County Health Division, senior citizens services coordinator. "Whether the future means living independently or in assisted living, knowing your options will make aging easier and more enjoyable."
The conference is free of charge and will offer seminars on housing alternatives, health and wellness, legal and financial issues and much, much more.
"As more and more of us start reaching our golden years, it's going to be vitally important we have a game plan for the future," said Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson. "This expo will help achieve that goal."
Complementary refreshments will be served and vendors will be on site to provide information on the services they offer. Raffle drawings will also be held throughout the day.
