Pontiac, MI, September 18, 2008 Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson will receive the 1st Annual Lifetime Achievement Award from the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA) and the Michigan Food and Beverage Association (MFBA) on October 3rd during the 4th Annual Michigan Business and Legislative Forum being held at Burton Manor in Livonia.
Patterson is being presented the award because of his "outstanding and dedicated service to the state of Michigan and the business community and for his professionalism."
"We're delighted Brooks will be here in person to accept the award," said Ed Deeb, MBPA president. "He certainly deserves the recognition because of his leadership and the outstanding contributions he has made, not only to Oakland County but to the entire state of Michigan."
Deeb said Patterson was selected for the award by the associations board of directors. The MBPA, which is the largest association in Michigan for small and mid-sized businesses, has 21,000 members who employ 160,000 people statewide.
